PyStar: A Programming Event for Women

|  posted on 3/18/11 by Clockwork

On March 26th, Clockwork will be hosting PyStar, a workshop by the Twin Cities Python User Group.

Below is an event description, and registration details from PyMNtos:

PyStar is designed to teach women how to program in a friendly non-alpha geek environment. Using Python, of course.

The workshop will focus on having groups learn together, with at least one guide or instructor who can lead where needed, and help out as requested.

Rules of Attendance:
People who self-identify as female are invited to join, but folks who identify as male are welcome so long as they are a guest of a female-identified person. One of PyStar's primary goals is to get more women interested and involved in programming and Python; we think these rules will aid in making a space that fosters that goal.

We're constantly talking to each other about what's new: a project we're working on, a new site we're obsessed with, or some other geekery. We figured, why not share those conversations with you?

Welcome to our collective mind.
